Below are the two photos I would choose as preferred images:

5 images for class

Lilah Belle and the scissors

Lilah Belle and the scissors

18-200 lens f4.5 1/30 natural light

Lilah Belle had been breaking her neck to get at a “real” pair of scissors that actually worked and the concentration was amazing.

Chuckie's debut

Chuckie’s debut

Chuckie’s debut was my start of using the 50mm lens to create sharp closeups with a blurred or preferably bokeh background. (f 1.8) before I practiced on a “real person”.

More practice with the 50mm lens. I noticed the disembodied hand later but this was just a quick snatched image. Will be watching out for it next time.

Just a quick shot with the 50mm in a cafe, quick pose.

Our dear mate Patty

Our dear mate Patty

50mm. unposed. I particularly like this image because I feel it shows her humble spirit.

Patty, one of the kindest people I know. Loves karioke, a Saturday bet on the ponies at the pub, a night out, making exquisite Christmas decorations & cooking for huge amounts of friends. She loves Christmas and fills the house with beautiful decorations made over the years that she also gives to friends. She always makes everyone welcome in her home and loves to cook a big baked dinner and have you come and share it. She never wants anything in return but your company.

Rocky

Rocky

50mm. fast posed. Taken very late in the afternoon on a rainy cold day, 3200 ISO.
I think the grainyness of the image adds a certain “grunge” that I like.

Little baby Ezra on his first Christmas

Little baby Ezra on his first Christmas

50mm. unposed. Background darkened.  Ezra wrapped up on his mothers lap on a chilly day, about 8 weeks old at Christmas 2013. I don’t mind the darkness of the image as it brings to my mind what it may have been like for Ezra to be enclosed and protected within the womb.

I can see how the domestic portraiture subject has helped me develop certain techniques and thought processes that have improved my photography.

DP_02 Assignment Part B

Contact was made with the client and a client form completed and a shooting style was established.

The style decided on was simple but sexy and stylish, with the studio providing a clothing prop and the client electing to do her own hair and makeup with her own contacts. I will be working with another team mate to provide assistance and backup.

The studio is checked for OH&S prior to each shoot by ensuring that all leads etc. are in good condition and out of the way of clients modelling and dressing area.

Below is a  client information form completed on initial phone contact and payment of booking deposit.

Other paperwork for the shoot is a contract with licensing and terms and conditions combined with an estimate and pricing schedule which was viewed by the client prior to the contract being signed.

Below is the pricing schedule

About the shoot:

This was taken early after pm on a sunny day with lots of natural light from a large louvered window wall covered with a white sheet to soften the light. All natural light in a small room close to a dark neutral painted wall. Minimal post production work done, mostly cropping and a bit of cloning to remove a power point and part of a sheet from the wall

The two images selected for paper records are below:

With the posing of this shot, I know that the hands are not soft and delicate but this person has strong hands and has always controled the direction of her life with a very strong will. I feel that the posing of the hands and body represent this.

Below is the client feedback form and email collection that then gives an opening for the continuing development of a positive relationship with the client for further studio offers that may interest them.
It also encourages facebook connection and the ability to advertise the shoot on a blog.
They may also direct friends and family to the blog to view their photos, a link also sent to them via email.
